GreenToGo is a service that has successfully introduced returnable takeout containers into the community. The primary objective is to assist in waste reduction by integrating returnable takeout containers seamlessly into Durham's infrastructure. Presently, we have established partnerships with over 25 restaurants, solidifying the sustainability of this endeavor.

By offering durable and reusable take-out containers, GreenToGo significantly contributes to waste reduction efforts, diverting trash away from landfills and contributing to an enhanced quality of life for local residents.

To facilitate this initiative, GreenToGo implements a straightforward check-in and check-out system for their containers. Customers can obtain a fresh box for their takeout or leftovers when dining at one of the participating restaurants. After use, the containers can be conveniently returned to any GreenToGo drop-off bin located in these establishments. Subsequently, the boxes undergo a thorough washing and sanitization process in commercial dishwashers, ensuring they are clean and ready for the next customer.
